Watercolor Painting
Tuesdays, 9:30 am - 12:00 p.m., October 2 - November 20 (8 weeks) $200. Call for materials list. Instructor: Priscilla Levesque (www.priscillaart.com). Learn and improve basic painting skills, and begin to develop your personal aesthetic style. We will work with still life subjects in the classroom, and landscapes outdoors. Learn to organize the picture space, achieve a range of values from light to dark, and create visually effective compositions. All levels welcome.Clay for Adults and Teens
Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. October 2 - Nov. 20 (8 weeks) $240 includes clay, glazes & firings. Instructor: Sarah Caruso (www.sarahcaruso.com) Students will explore a variety of hand building and wheel throwing techniques to create functional and decorative pottery and small sculpture. We will explore a variety of surface treatments, texture, and glazing. Beginners and ongoing levels welcome.Open Pottery Studio
October 1 - December 9 (Approximately 10 weeks), $160 for Fall Session -includes clay, glaze, firings. Required Orientation Meeting: Tuesday, October 2, 6:00 p.m. Program Coordinator: Sarah Caruso Work independently in the ceramic studio. An initial orientation meeting with instructor to review studio use and policies, then come create your own work. Must have taken a clay class at the Cataumet Art Center, or have spoken with clay instructor or director regarding alternate experience. Scheduled bisque and glaze firings will be posted.Chinese Brush Painting Workshop
Sat.& Sun, October 20&21, 1- 4pm, $60 includes both days. Call for materials list. Instructor: Jean Brewer. Learn the calming, expressive art of Chinese brush painting. Use of inks, brushes, papers, and various traditional techniques will be covered. Jean has been studying with one of China's greatest contemporary masters for over 22 years.Children's Art Classes
Art Studio for Kids (Ages 7 - 12)
Wednesdays, 4- 6 p.m., September - December. Registration ongoing. Please call for availability. $200 for 10 weeks includes materials. (or $20 per class - 5 week commitment requested.) Instructor: Andrea Moore. Students explore painting, drawing and 3D design and construction methods using watercolors, pastels, charcoal, wood, plaster, clay and fabric in guided projects. Introduction to art forms of many cultures for Inspiration. Individual imagination and expression encouraged.
